Brendan Rodgers is trying to get his work done early in this summer transfer window as 2 players will be making their way toAnfield Roadas they have already been signed by the Premier League club.
Rickie Lambert and Emre Can have already been secured but there still are more players which are being linked with a possible move toLiverpooland one of those players is Xherdan Shaqiri as the English club is hoping they can sign the player of Bayern Munich with an initial opening bid in the region of €15 million.
So far, Liverpool has not splashed out huge amounts of money on signing their targets at least compared to other teams in the Premier League as Rickie Lambert was signed with a price tag of €4 million while the services of Emre Can was secured with a transfer fee of €9.75 million which is significantly lower compared to Chelsea who offloaded €30 million for Cesc Fabregas.
Shaqiri only made 10 Bundesliga starts in the previous season as he has fallen behind in the pecking order of Pep Guardiola and does not seem to play any influential role in Bayern Munich, this can give the opportunity for Brendan Rodgers to swoop in and sign the Swiss midfielder without having to break the bank account in signing him.
Rodgers revealed some of the elements that he is taking into consideration before signing any players in this summer transfer window.
“Our criteria that we look for is players with strong technique and football intelligence. They need to mentally have the attitude and the capacity to learn and they have to be so hungry to fight for every ball on every day in training and in the game. You’ll get some players who are specialists and who need to play in particular positions, but if we can get players in who are multi-functional, and can play in different roles and are multi-dimensional, it sets us up and gives me more options’’. Rodgers announced.
